Psalm 90:17 says, "May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us—yes, establish the work of our hands."

As parents, there is nothing we desire more than to see the fruits of our labor, especially in the lives of our children. Every day, we wake up and give our best, even when we feel like we have nothing left to give. We sacrifice our time, energy, and resources for our children. We think carefully about how to serve them best, we love them tenderly, and we look after them with the utmost care. Our deepest hope is that all of this work and sacrifice is not in vain, and that our children will grow and thrive as a result.

This verse is a beautiful reminder that while we must continue to diligently care for and raise our children, we can rest in the assurance that the Lord will establish the work of our hands. He will ensure that our labor is not in vain. In moments when it feels like we’re failing or when we see our children struggling, it’s easy to lose hope or give in to frustration. But Psalm 90:17 reassures us that the Lord is faithful and will establish the work we do in our children’s lives.

Parenting is a calling that requires us to be faithful with the work God has given us, but it also requires us to trust Him to bring that work to completion. When we invite His presence into our daily routines, He establishes and strengthens the work of our hands. How reassuring is that? It gives us so much hope and serves as a beautiful reminder that we do not walk this parenting journey alone. God is with us every step of the way, helping and guiding us.

In the day-to-day challenges of parenting, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or uncertain about the impact we’re having on our children. But when we rely on God, trusting Him to establish the work of our hands, we can parent with confidence and peace. We can trust that our efforts, when combined with His grace and guidance, will bear fruit in our children’s lives.

So, as you continue to pour your heart and soul into raising your children, remember that you are not doing this work alone. The favor of the Lord is upon you, and He is faithfully establishing the work of your hands. Keep trusting Him, and know that He is working alongside you to bring about His perfect plans for your family.
